~History~

I (Dori Stadler) started out in Fort Myers, Florida in 1986 with a little darling girl I took to all obedience shows. In a short time she had acquired all her obedience titles. This led to my becoming an obedience trainer and led to my desire to produce more of these little dogs that have so much to give and so much intelligence

I soon purchased my first showgirl, who never did quite get that Championship I so hoped for; but fired my interest in the breed as a whole. I went full tilt at reading everything I could get my hands on, taking every class I could find, and finding some of the best breeders I could ever hope to learn from. Among these are Sherry Lee (Linden Shelties) Melanie Williams (Lochanora) and Rose Chandless (Winslow-Summit).

I then began WarmWinds Shelties.

In 1995 I moved from Florida to Wisconsin, giving my kennel name to a wonderful lady who started from me, Norma Engel. Norma still carries on the WarmWinds name today. Since WarmWinds did not fit very well into Wisconsin's cooler, and sometimes downright cold climate; I set about looking for a new kennel name. After a long search, that seemed to be fruitless, one of my dear friends, who was one of a number that had been phoning me, told me I should call myself “TouchTone”; because I was always on the phone talking about shelties! Well, the name stuck and here I am.

Our Sable line stems from a 14 ½ inch red sable male that moved like a dream with correct angulation named Ch. Starfalls Keeper of the Flame (Flint). Our “Cinderella” sisters Ch WarmWinds Sunspun Ribbons (Ribbon), BISS Ch WarmWinds Sunspun Delight (Taffy), and Can Ch WarmWinds Make Mine Mink (Mink), and owned by Norma, Ch WarmWinds Li’I Bit of Mischief (Missy), are now getting on in age. Ribbon is Dam to two beautiful sons, Am/Int Ch TouchTones Ringmaster (Trivette) and Starlites Fire When Ready, ptd (Ready). Ribbon died in the summer of 2004 but thankfully will live on in our hearts and her children. Taffy, (Delight), is Dam to our "Derek," TouchTones B’Yond the Ordinary (4 pts, 1 major).  I have always loved the Proof Positive and Piano Man line, and I am currently building a wonderful AOAC line based on it.

We’d love to talk to YOU about Shelties!

Welcome!
